Ode to the Trainer

Homage to the stationary trainer (with limerick and haiku)

Limerick

A more infernal machine was never made
where agony and misery never fade

    you go round and a-round
    as the heart is a-pound

'til the trainer ensures every cent is paid!

His and her bikes on the trainer. Lots of fun here!
Kidding aside, the trainer is a wonderful even if infernal invention. Where I live, in the cold, dark hinterland of middle America, you cannot really ride during December through February without one, unless you are made of stone and can endure that frozen abyss.

Every good trainer set up needs (in ascending order of importance): A sweat catcher of some kind, a tune player and tunes, a plasma tv, and most important, a fan that blows wind with the power of a nor'easter.

This image shows all the necessities: headphones are wrapped on stem-steerer
tube area. The dial on the left drop is for ramping up the resistance: arrgh!

Haiku

endless circles
lend me your lion legs
whirring cyclone
