On Memorial Day we wanted to go on a family ride. But it was 91 degrees, and not a cloud in the sky. Our kids would never want to go riding again if we pedaled in the full light of day.
So we chose a trail that had a deep canopy of tree cover and shade: the Greenway, starting in Lisbon and finishing in Leetonia, OH. This is a trail that lives up to its name: it's green, shady, wooded, an ideal rail-trail for a hot summer day.
At 20 miles out and back, it is just the right mileage for six-year-old legs. The trail runs along some farms and defunct industrial sites. So there are interesting things to see, including livestock as well as abundant wildlife. The Greenway is a four star trail.

The trail runs along the Little Beaver Creek, which provides interesting geography (and a mostly flat ride). |
